Emerald Lake

YOHO NATIONAL PARK Trace is site-specific to the network of trails near the Burgess Shale fossil beds in Yoho National Park. Yoho National Park is located in Canada on the eastern border of British Columbia, next to Banff National Park. Emerald Lake is in the valley just below the Burgess Shale and Lake Louise is within short driving distance. The installation covers the network of trails that include the Emerald Lake, Burgess Shale and Takkakaw Falls areas. Wildflowers are in bloom until late in the season and mountain goats are often sighted on the hillsides near the fossil beds.
